Policies and procedures checklists

Policies and procedures provide the framework within which an organisation operates.

The policies and procedures an organisation needs will depend on a number of things such as the type of work they do and the size of organisation.

These documents must reflect both the organisation and its service/s to be effective and easy to implement.

Whilst some policies and procedures are considered best practice to have in place, others are a legal obligation, for example:

  • employment
  • equal opportunities
  • data protection
  • health and safety

On occasion, funders may ask to view specific policies and procedures (e.g. Safeguarding Adults) as part of their funding application.
